 |
|
The Jamaica National
Building Society’s (JNBS) HWT Branch was the venue of a GSAT Reception on
September 14 where 17 girls and eight boys were awarded five-year scholarships
for their outstanding performance in this
year’s Grade Six Achievement Test
Seven of the recipients are children of JNBS employees. Since the inception of the JNBS Scholarship Programme
in 1983, some 290 students have received funds to complete their secondary
education. |
Since 1983, the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), a mutual organisation, has maintained its commitment to contribute to the building of social capital in Jamaica by providing scholarships to young people to assist them to pursue their secondary and tertiary education.
During the past 26 years the programme has provided tuition scholarships, bursaries, and book grants for approximately 400 students, at high schools across the island; as well as tertiary students at The University of the West Indies, the University of Technology and Northern Caribbean University.
Member Benefit: The main objective of the programme is to provide additional benefits for members of the Society and their children; as well as employees of the Society, who are also members, and their children.
